  • Public Relations Account Executive

As we continue to grow we are looking to add to our team. Calypso is seeking qualified candidates for a Public Relations Account Executive position.

Candidate will manage client relationships, develop and implement integrated print and online public relations strategies, conduct media relations, and perform day-to-day activities in order to complete communication initiatives.

This mid-level position will work with the Senior Director of Strategic Communications to develop and implement effective plans and tactics that utilize all appropriate communications vehicles to meet objectives and client service expectations.

Specifically, duties include but are not limited to: account management and reporting; conducting market research; writing for blogs/social networks; writing press releases and other promotional materials; pitching stories to the media (print and online) and maintaining productive media relationships, fielding media calls and monitoring press coverage; and planning special events, such as analyst tours, press conferences, and media briefings.

Position Requirements:
In addition to Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in the field of Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or similar, the ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5-7 years related experience working in a public relations capacity–a combination of agency and corporate experience is preferred; excellent written (for both print and online mediums) and verbal communication skills; knowledge and experience with social networking and all on and off-line public relations tools and tactics; and proven strategic planning and execution of a comprehensive range of media and public relations campaigns.

  • Interactive Video Design & Production Specialist

    Calypso Communications is looking to hire and expand our team with someone who loves video and making it sparkle…ideally on the web as well as other channels. The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of experience in video production and editing and a working knowledge of integrating video onto websites. In a perfect world, we’re not talking about just uploading it to YouTube, we’re talking about someone who likes to create a whole webpage that explodes with their video masterpieces or creates a banner that suddenly comes to life with motion. This person will have to be comfortable with video formats, editing, and color grading. Added bonus is familiarity with the latest web languages….oh did we mention it would be great if they had the heart of a designer?!

    Yeah we’re asking for a lot but that’s the way Calypso is…each of us like to wear many hats– we get bored making the same types of stuff day in and day out. Much like shaking hands for a day with your left hand we believe you can learn a lot by flexing a different muscle every so often. Calypso is located in the hip town of Portsmouth NH. We are a very busy firm and hopping from thing to thing is the norm.

    Experience Level:

    Junior to Medium (2-5 yrs)

    Core Duties/Responsibilities:

    * Coordinate Video Projects from Post to distribution

    * Work with vendors

    * Shoot Video (regional travel required)

    * Editing

    * Organization and storage of media files

    Additional Activities (hoped for but not required):

    * Website editing & design (WordPress knowledge is a HUGE plus)

    * Online interactive design (Things like web ads and Facebook pages)

    Required Skills/Knowledge/Experience:

    * Ability to communicate well

    * High Comfort with Final Cut Pro and its sister applications (Motion, Compressor etc)

    * Mac knowledge

    * Working knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver)

     

  • Web Design and Programmer

    Calypso Communications is looking to hire and expand our team with someone who loves designing and building websites. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in web design and a working knowledge of PHP, HTML and integrating video and other bells and whistles onto websites. This person will have the heart of a designer, the mind of a programmer, and the soul of entertainer – we build websites that engage.

    Calypso is located in the hip town of Portsmouth NH. We are a very busy firm with lots of projects, tons of learning opportunities, and the chance to learn something new every day.

    Experience Level:

    Junior to Medium (2-5 yrs web designing and developing )

    Core Duties/Responsibilities:

    * Website design and editing primarilty in PHP and HTML; WordPress experience a plus

    * Online interactive design for web ads, Facebook pages, etc.

    Required Skills/Knowledge/Experience:

    * 4 year degree or a 2 year associate degree in computer science and/or a certificate in web design program or graphic design program and a Certificate in Dreamweaver, Flash, Photoshop, Adobe illustrator

    * High Comfort with the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver)

    * Excellent visual communication skills and the ability to communicate well with clients and team members

    * Knowledge of SQL server or MySQL, PHP, HTML, CSS, JSP, JavaScript.

    * knowlege of  iOS
